From grub to greenspaces, Brookhavenites and guests have a lot to look forward to this summer! Keep reading for a sneak peek of all of the fun!
1. Langford Park
Brookhaven's newest park officially opened May 31st with a Mayor and Council-led ribbon cutting ceremony. This new neighborhood addition offers two play structures, a bring your own bocce ball bocce ball court, sheltered pavilion, and walking trail. The park pays tribute to Robert Langford, a war hero, who owned the land the park sits on. Whenever you need to take a break, get your steps in with a side of fresh air at Langford Park.
2. Hummus Republic
Now Open! This rapidly expanding Mediterranean eatery has arrived to the Village at Druid Hills, a shopping center at the corner of Briarcliff Rd at North Druid Hills Rd, in the former Penn Station restaurant. This California-based, fast-casual spot offers health-conscious vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and plant-based foods. With a variety of options available, this will certainly offer something for everyone.
3. Chi Chi Vegan
Calling all vegans! We finally have a fully vegan restaurant open in Brookhaven! Reynoldstown’s Chi Chi Vegan opened their second location at the Village at Druid Hills in the former Newk’s Eatery. The Mexican inspired restaurant boasts a totally dairy free, egg free, and meat free menu. Both locations now offer delivery, so next time you’re craving tacos, remember to add their famous Mangonada to your order, too!
5. Mirko Pasta
We’re hopeful Italian restaurant Mirko Pasta will be open and serving up pasta and pizza from their new location in Town Brookhaven in late June/early July! Both the Marietta and Buckhead locations currently offer a myriad of homemade pasta options alongside antipasti and classic entrees, but Brookhaven’s menu will have fresh Neapolitan-style pizza available, too!
6. Costa Coffee
Costa Coffee crossed the pond and landed in Town Brookhaven! The London-based chain will call home the space between Tropical Smoothie Café and 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar. Costa Coffee was purchased by The Coca-Cola Company in 2019 and opened its first location in the U.S. at a mixed-use development in Midtown Atlanta. Brookhaven’s opening will make it one of two other openings around Atlanta. Construction is still underway, and the shop is scheduled to open in Summer 2023. If you’ve been looking for somewhere else to get your cup of joe other than Dunkin’ or Starbucks, this is the spot for you.
7. C&S Seafood and Oyster Bar
Fresh seafood awaits in the newly constructed Alta Porter complex off Peachtree Road. Brookhaven will be C&S Seafood and Oyster Bar’s third location and will mimic the Sandy Springs’s upscale menu with a variety of raw bar offerings and special new dishes. The new digs will feature a green space and patio and chic interiors, mixing textures and millwork with gold accents throughout the restaurant. The opening date has not been set, but we have no doubt it will become an instant hit with the community.
8. Chopt Salad
Out with the old, in with the new. Brookhaven Station off Peachtree Road is adding another eatery. Chopt Salad will serve as the third planned opening in the Station, revamping the former Rapz Wraps and Smoothie Bar and the Nail City salon space. Chopt Salad is a fast-casual chain that makes salads the star of the show. With a variety of fresh and healthy options for toppings and dressings, these salads are everything but boring!
9. Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q
Another addition to Brookhaven Station, replacing the former sports bar Hudson FC, is the long-anticipated Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q. Pitmaster brothers, Justin and Jonathan, started their smoking journey in their Brookhaven backyard so it was only fitting to bring it back home. This location will serve as their third full-service restaurant since their inception. They plan on having an open-air feel with an outdoor space and a to-go pickup window, all inspired by the classic Texas icehouses that the brothers grew up with. The restaurant is expected to include a Tex-Mex barbecue menu alongside their signature smoked meats and said to open late this summer/early fall.
10. Lobster Bánh MÌ
Vietnamese cuisine is nothing new to Buford Highway, but Duluth-based restaurant Lobster Banh Mi prepares to open its doors at the Skyland Shopping Center off Clairmont Road and bring its classic crusty and fresh French baguette sandwiches to Brookhaven. This location is set to be more upscale with an expanded menu that will also offer snacks, soups, and even a full bar! Catering will also be available, and these crowd-pleasing sandwiches make for the perfect meal so give them a call for your next event.
