Hong Kong Mahjong Crash Course with Rocket Mahjong at Explore Brookhaven
Learn the version of the game that started it all in Hong Kong in the late 19th century, which is the basis for dozens of games including Uno and Rumikub. Whether you currently play American style or are completely new to the game, Rocket Mahjong have you up and running in this 2 hour crash course that will cover:
1. A brief history of the game
2. The game equipment (pushers, tiles, mat, wind indicators)
3. Identifying the tiles (craks, bams, dots, dragons, winds, flowers)
4. How to build a winning hand (4 sets and a pair)
5. The setup, rules and terminology of the game (including washing tiles, breaking the wall, Chow, Pung and Chombo!)
6. Basic Scoring and use of Yakitori Markers
7. Basic strategy
8. Online resources and game platforms
9. Practice playing!
